Although winter may seem like a dreary time to some, it can be a lot of fun on Long Island! There are plenty of activities to keep you busy during the colder months, and we have put together a list of some of our favorites. There is something for everyone, from skiing and snowboarding to ice skating and tubing.

Skiing and Snowboarding: Several ski resorts on Long Island, including Windham Mountain Resort, Hunter Mountain, and Plattekill Mountain. There is something for everyone. And after enjoying a day on the slopes, be sure to relax in one of the many charming villages near the resorts.

Ice Skating: Ice skating is a popular winter activity, and there are several ice rinks on Long Island where you can enjoy a session. Our favorites include The Rinx in Hauppauge, The Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River, and Cupsaw Lake in West Milford, NJ.

Tubing: It’s a fun activity for all ages and can be enjoyed at several locations on Long Island. Our favorites include tubing hills at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow and Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon.

Montauk Igloos: If you are looking for a unique winter experience, be sure to check out the Montauk Igloos. These igloos are located on a private beach in Montauk and can accommodate six people. They come complete with all of the amenities, including heaters, so you can enjoy a warm and cozy staycation.

The Witches Brew: If you are looking for a festive place to celebrate the winter season, be sure to check out The Witches Brew in Selden. This pub offers a variety of seasonal beers and cocktails, as well as a delicious food menu. They also host special events throughout the winter months, including holiday parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Captain Lou Fleet: If you are looking for some family-friendly fun, be sure to check out Captain Lou Fleet. The amusement park provides a variety of rides and games, including bumper cars, laser tag, and mini-golf. They also have a concession stand where you can purchase food and drinks.

Other Activities: In addition to skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and tubing, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy during winter on Long Island. Some favorite activities include going to the movies, taking a walk or hiking in one of the many beautiful parks or nature preserves on Long Island, visiting a winery or brewery, and attending a concert or show.
