Since 1870, revelers have traveled to New York each Easter Sunday for the Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival. While a celebration of the Christian holiday, the event is also known for marchers adorning themselves with flower hats and pastel-colored clothes. The parade starts at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Easter morning at 10 and concludes at 4 in the afternoon near Central Park. As marchers traverse 8 blocks, photo ops abound in the dozens of brightly painted Easter eggs that dot the city’s streets.
