There is nothing quite like the fall season in NYC. The weather is neither too hot nor too cold, making it the perfect time to check out many of the city’s seasonal events. Most tourists visit during the summer and winter, making fall a great time to see the city.
The diversity of the activity and events throughout the city mean everyone can find something they will enjoy. For example, from mid-September to mid-October, locals and tourists alike will be attending Oktoberfest. The experience includes the chance to sample numerous beers and enjoy local NYC cuisine. No matter which borough one is in, they will find Oktoberfest celebrations nearby.
For those who live life behind a camera shutter, the fall season brings Photoville, a series of exhibitions of professional photographers. This event takes place in Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Over 600 artists come together to present 75 exhibits to the curious public. Its screenings, workshops, and seminars are offered to up and coming photographers in the area. This free event takes place in mid-September.
Mid-to-late September is also the time for Museum Day Live. September 21st marks the event, which includes 15 of the city’s museums offering free admission. Though a ticket is needed for the day, anyone can get one for nothing. The list of museums offering free admission to these ticket holders includes the Intrepid Air & Space Museum, The Rubin Museum of art, the American Folk Art Museum, and the Smithsonian Design Museum.
From September 2nd to October 6th is the Coca Cola Generations in Jazz Festival. Held at Lincoln Center, the show features countless jazz musicians. Attendees are urged to check the schedule for their favorite performer. The festival kicks off with the Ben Wolfe Quintet, Chareene Wade, and Evan Sherman.
The 2019 Food and Wine Festival will be held October 10th through the 13th. Celebrity chefs are on hand to provide cooking demonstrations and more. The festival also includes events such as an ice cream date and a burger bash. Activities, demonstrations, classes, and more are located at Pier 92 and Pier 94.
